Welcoming a newborn into your family is a beautiful experience, and capturing those early moments through photography is a wonderful way to preserve those memories. To ensure your newborn photo session goes smoothly and results in stunning images, here are some helpful tips to prepare for a relaxing, spa-like experience.
Newborn sessions are designed to be calming and enjoyable. You’ll have the opportunity to sit back and relax while we take care of everything. Picture this: a serene atmosphere where you can unwind, read, or even take a nap, all while we capture those precious moments with your little one.
We provide breakfast, snacks, and coffee for each newborn session to keep you energized and comfortable. However, feel free to bring along any personal snacks you’d like to enjoy during your time at the studio.
Giving your baby a bath before the session can not only keep them awake but also leave them feeling cozy and relaxed. A warm bath can be a soothing experience that helps set the tone for the session.
About an hour before you leave for the studio, give your baby a good feeding. This will ensure they are content during the shoot. Remember to burp them well and keep offering food until it’s time to go. A full belly can make for a happy baby!
We want you to feel at ease, so during your consultation, we’ll help you choose the best outfits for your session. This way, you won’t have to worry about what to wear once your baby arrives. Dress your baby in an outfit that opens at the front or back to minimize disturbance when changing clothes. Solid, plain colors photograph best, so steer clear of stripes, patterns, and complicated collars. Simple is beautiful!
If parents and siblings are joining the shoot, ensure everyone’s outfits complement each other. If you choose different colors, they should coordinate as if they were part of one cohesive outfit. Since most photos will be taken from the waist up, don’t worry about pants or shoes!
The studio will be kept warm for the baby’s comfort, so dress in light, comfortable clothing. If you want to wear a sweater or other layers for your photos, consider changing into them once you arrive at the studio to avoid overheating.
Preparing for your newborn photo session can make a world of difference in creating a calm and enjoyable experience for both you and your baby. By following these tips, you’ll be setting the stage for beautiful photographs that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. Enjoy capturing these precious early moments with your little one in a cozy, spa-like setting!
